A few thoughts

I think the thing I love most about a blog is it gives me a place o write down funny things my kids did or said. I am terrible at journal writing and I find this helps me. I also like that some times I am touched by things but never have a forum to share them and i feel this is the perfect place for that.

That being said here are a few things that have been on my mind this weekend.

1. I have been a pretty good bargain shopper for most of my marriage but friday I did so good that I was excited to tell anyone who cared. I did my grocery shopping and had a savings of  $281.68 yes thats right that was my savings My total was only 160.00 I also earned 4 movie tickets, and a coupon for 15.00 of my next order. The best part was that they had to call a manager over to give approval because my savings were so high they needed to check and make sure it was accurate.
This is a picture of my haul. Kids will be out of school before we know it so I have been taking advantage of cereal and lunch stuff.

2. Today I watched something that touched my heart. Brandon and Nicole are in town for a few days when they showed up after greeting everyone Nicole made sure she spent time with each one of my kids even went to there rooms to see whatever might be new since last time she was here. Chatted with each one of them and then let Kendall sit on her lap the whole time. My kids have really good Aunts and Uncles but to watch her with them and see how much she loves them was fun to watch.

3. Tonight was the adult meeting for stake conference this is usually the meeting I enjoy the most. This time they did it different The general authority that was here was Kenneth Johnson he said that the first presidency want to change how the meeting is run. There will not be talks assigned before hand. We first heard from our stake president. Then Elder Johnson stood and asked the sisters to raise there hand and ask questions that they would right down then he and the stake Presidency would answer the questions. It was really cool he says we as members need to start relying on our inspiration and not on reading from the pulpit. I came away really inspired and heard a lot of neat things to help me as a parent.

4. I don't tell my sister enough how much I appreciate her. A week ago she took my youngest two for half the day so that I could help Marshal and Charly write there talks. (Our whole family spoke in church last Sunday.) The past couple weeks her hubby has been out of town and she has been playing single Mom in spite of it all she still shows up often to help me get kids where they need or to help me around my house. Colle you ROCK and I wish I gave back as much as you give me. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

I guess with all this said LIFE is GOOD!

Earth Day Field Trip

Wed was Earth Day so Kendall's class went to a local nursery to learn more about plants. This cool machine is what plants the seeds for all the starts.
This was Kendall showing me what a start looks like after it has started to grow.
This is Kendall's class with the plant they got to bring home.

The crazy part for me is that I am almost done with pre-school I can not believe that in just a few more weeks she will graduate and then off to Kindergarten. Where does the time go? She laughs at me when I tell her that she is in trouble for growing up on me. Then she usually responds with I pray every night that you will not be sad that I am getting bigger. Before you know it she will be rolling her eyes at me like the rest off them.

oh that hurts!

The pictures at the bottom of this are a little yucky just to warn you.

We had a little trauma at our house last night. Noelle was in a little bike accident. She was riding her bike to her friends house. She was on the side walk and we think the end of her handle bar got to close to the fence which made them turn into the fence and she went flying. She landed mostly on her face.

Charly was with her and they ran home I heard Charly say Noelle is bleeding so I ran out front and met her on the step. She was not crying just a slight whimper with blood gushing out of her mouth.

She chipped her two front teeth and pulled the gum around her bottom four teeth away from the teeth. In some places there is no gum left. I quickly got a hold of the dentist and got her in I was afraid she was going to lose four teeth on the bottom plus the top teeth.

The bottom teeth should be fine and we will repair the top teeth as soon as her gum has healed. she will have to have a couple of grafts done to her bottom gum but we have to wait and see how it heals.

I know it seems odd I took pictures of this but we had to for insurance purpose's.
The amazing part is that she never cried. She is one tough little lady.

Chicago

Last week I was fortunate enough to go on a girls weekend with some of my friends. (Thanks Chuck for making sure this happened.) We were headed to Chicago to see a show, hang out and do lots of shopping. When we arrived in Chicago we were greeted by two limos. I was a little excitied about this because I had never been in one.
Are first day we did all kinds of sight seeing. We did a river tour of the city, spent time at the top of the Hancock building, shopping at the American girl doll store, dinner at Morton's steak house. My steak was fabulous by the way. Then we were off to see a Broadway play of Mary Poppins. It was pretty good loved the chimney sweep tap scene it was incredible like most plays they add there own little spin to things and the toy scene was weird but other than that loved it.
This is all of us we were able to do a session at the Chicago temple. From left to right Jill, Mandi, Lorianne, Robi, Amy, Megan, Me, Wendy, Jen, Allison and Marietta.

This was just one days worth of shopping. We definitely helped the economy in Chicago.

We had so much fun I have not laughed that much in a long time. I defiantly did not get enough sleep and am positive that is why I came down with a cold this week. In the end all worth it. There is a lot to be said for time to rejuvenate and enjoy the people you are with. I am so glad that I have a husband that not only encourages time with my friends but who also understands how needed it is for me.

Girls thanks for such a great weekend!

Dying Eggs

I love that Marsh still enjoys dyeing eggs.
Before
Chuck really got into the egg dying this year the kids had to ask him to stop so they would have eggs to dye
Kendall enjoyed all the fun tools I have for egg dyeing
Noelle and Charly
We have a good time together. I enjoy holidays and spending time with my kids.

Hannah Montana the movie

Friday I took the kids to see the opening of Hannah Montana movie we met up with a bunch of our friends. At one point in the movie when Miley was singing the climb the whole row of girls was singing it I thought it was so cute. In the picture Noelle with Madison, Zowie, Olivia and Abby.
This is Charly with her friend Paigley and Abby. When we got out of the movie I received a text from my sister that Miley and Billy Ray made an appearance at a theater in SLC they were bummed that they did not get to meet her. I thought the movie was pretty good for a tween movie.

Neighborhood Egg hunt

So I have been out of town and have so many things to share that I will have to post one a day till I am caught up. So enjoy! Mother nature should not try to mess with a bunch of mothers with kids on spring break, we will always find a way. One of my good friends started a neighborhood egg hunt years ago and every year it has gotten bigger and bigger until it became to big to do in her yard.  We usually do it at the bowery at the church. This year with the rain we found a way to make it work.
Kendall with all her eggs

I am not that good of getting photos during an event but here is Charly and Kendall with Madison and Olivia they had just helped us get all the eggs on the floor and where now banded to the stage.

Marshal has several little buddies in the neighborhood and this is Max. It is really cute to watch the little boys with Marsh they look up to him so much. I do however have to remind him at times that this is a neat thing and how lucky he is to have so many admirers.

Crafting

I never thought I would be doing boutiques again. Here are few of the things I have painted. I wanted to come up with some extra money (as if there is such a thing) for a trip I am going on in a few days with some of my friends.
Luckily one of my good friends already does boutiques so she let me add my loot with hers. I figured I would take pictures of some of it because in the past I would paint for the boutique plus one for me and one for my Mom. I defiantly do not need any more holiday decorations I don't think I even put up half of what I own. This way I can see what I did and send it out the door.
I made way to many of these in the fall I sold about half but still have about 40 more.

Mom's and Muffins

Last Friday was the end of reading month. They finished it off with Mom's and muffins we had a good time considering we were drinking milk out of a little milk carton. (that took me back) and the muffins were well half frozen.
I know I am totally bias but don't you think they are cute.
Noelle's friends think we have the same smile what do you think?
She hates her hair in this picture it was very windy and cold when we were walking in, I think the wind got to her bangs.
